Tarık is an experienced lawyer with a demonstrated history of working in shareholder disputes, M&A disputes, partnership disputes, contentious shareholder relationships and re-negotiations as well as disputes arising out of all types of commercial contracts. He has worked on some of the largest and most complex corporate legal cases within the Turkish jurisdiction, that often-involved international parties. He is hence considered to be a particularly accomplished litigator both by his peers and clients.
Tarık is a graduate of Marmara University [LL.B.] and Queen Mary, University of London [LL.M.]. He is currently pursuing an Executive Master of Business Administration degree at Boğaziçi University as well as a PhD programme at Istanbul Bilgi University. Within this respect, Tarik focuses on “Legal Aspects of Asset Transfer Agreement” set forth in Article 143 of Banking Law no. 5411 in his doctoral research.
Admitted to Istanbul Bar Association, Tarık is also a member of International Bar Association [“IBA”] and Association of Young Executives and Businessmen [“GYIAD”].
Tarık is the author of numerous publications, published both in English and Turkish, including a number of refereed articles as well as a book entitled “Legal Aspects of Mitigating Construction Risks in Project Finance” . In addition to his academic publications and doctoral research, Tarık is also a contributing author in reputable magazines including Bloomberg Businessweek and Dünya Gazetesi.
