Mr. Güzel has experience in competition and regulation law matters. He serves competition and regulation law advices and attorney services mainly in telecommunication, insurance, banking, digital economy, retail and all sectors.


He specialized on banking and competition law era as he started to his career as an assistant of inspector in a large public bank. He involved in all area of banking transactions during his inspection team periods such as big loan agreements and debt problems of multiple branches. He continued his academicals works with his professional life and worked on competition law application in banking sector as a master thesis. By passing to Turkish Competition Authority since its establishment on 1998 as an assistant expert, he served at TCA for ten years as case handler and lead expert on banking, insurance, automotive and health sector competition law applications. Major banking share merger control and first banking sector investigation (Credit card interchange fees investigation) in Turkey are main experience of Mr.Güzel at that time. He served as TCA representative in OECD competition directorate meetings.


In 2008, Mr.Güzel passed to private practice at an international law firm in İstanbul. During this period he worked on big due diligence projects on media, insurance, steel, digital and other sectors. He worked on big media advertisement agreements as a counsellor. He lead the first commitment application of Turkish Competition law in a merger case and advised first leniency application at that time.


Mr Güzel worked on Turk Telekom Group in various levels and lastly was the Director of Competition and Regulation Law of the Group. He leads the team against many regulations and competition law investigations conducted by Information and Communication Agency (ICTA, known as BTK) and Turkish Competition Authority (TCA). He was the regulatory and competition law lead of “Turk Telekom Integration Project” group. He worked on concession agreements of TT group and compliance of regulatory environments of Data Protection, consumer rights, media regulations, internet law and all era of electronic communication law. He led legal team in various compliance program of the firm to regulated matters. He led legal team in giving firm opinion to regulatory changes in Turkish electronic communication sector. He monitored Turkish electronic communication sector regulations.


Mr Güzel is founded Güzel Law Office on 2016 in Ankara and provides consultancy services to Turkish and international companies and public institutions on regulation, competition law and foreign trade. He has been working mainly on insurance sector as competition and regulation law adviser.


He is the representative of Turkey at Commission of Digital Economy of International Chamber of Commerce.


He was the guest lecturer in TOBB University Law School and gave “Electronic Communication Law” course.
