Sinem Göçmen Uyarer is an LL.B. graduate of İstanbul University. She successfully completed compulsory internship in Turkey and obtained her Attorney License from the Turkish Bar Association in January 2013. She was accepted into this LLM Programme focused on Public Law at the Galatasaray University after her LLB and internship. Ms Uyarer’s thesis addressed the Data Protection under the Turkish Criminal Code and the Data Protection Code in Turkey.
Ms Uyarer worked at one of the top-tier law firms, Gun + Partners, and dealt with many international corporate clients and their complex litigations in Turkey, prepared legal advice and attended hearings before the courts. Following her period of employment with Gun + Partners, she worked full-time as Legal Counsel for Cardtek Innovative Payment Solutions which is also one of the leading fintech companies in Turkey. She was responsible for providing legal services to seven companies that belong to Cardtek Holdings. Ms Uyarer’s responsibilities in this role included drafting and reviewing all types of agreements such as NDA’s, Partner Agreements, International Sales Agreements, License Agreements etc. and she was also responsible for providing services and leading cases about issues related to corporate law, including disputes derived from shareholders, merging procedures and so forth.
In 2018, Ms Uyarer moved to Berlin and she is presently working as a Legal and Compliance Advisor at AAZZUR which is one of the Berlin-based fintech companies.
