Göktekin Energy Appoints Senem Berkem Paflak to Head of Legal

Senem Berkem Paflak joined Göktekin Energy, an engineering company established in 2015 to provide EPC services in the field of sustainable energy, as Head of Legal.

Senem relocated from Boğaziçi Elektrik Dağıtım A.Ş., where she had been working as Head of Legal for 9 months before making the transfer. Prior to joining Boğaziçi Elektrik Dağıtım A.Ş., she worked for Modanisa, Delta Group and Borusan EnBW energy as Head of Legal.

She has worked both as an in-house counsel and private practitioner after graduating from Yeditepe University's Faculty of Law in 2004. She holds an LL.M. degree from Galatasaray University as well.

Senem brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record in the legal field, making her well-equipped to navigate the complex landscape of energy regulations, compliance, and corporate governance. Her expertise is expected to contribute significantly to Göktekin Enerji's mission of providing sustainable energy solutions and fostering innovation across the industry.

Senem's leadership and strategic thinking are anticipated to be invaluable assets in ensuring the highest level of integrity and legal protection for the company.

What personal and professional skills do you believe are most important for your role at Göktekin Energy? Can you discuss the role's challenges and benefits?

As a legal professional who knows all dynamics of the energy sector and worked at Big Four Companies, Turkey's leading executive renewable energy companies, energy distribution and sale companies, and mining company for nearly 20 years, I will use my legal and technical know-how to contribute to the Company, including my leadership skills.

Göktekin Enerji is an engineering company established in 2015 with the intention of providing EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) services. Göktekin has energy investments in Canada, Romania, Italy, Greece, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and I am happy to be a part of these investments. The roles have so many benefits because Göktekin integrated the organizational structure of the company into new market conditions, and, establishing regions to cover entire Turkey and abroad.
