World Trademark Review 1000 Türkiye Rankings in 2023
World Trademark Review (WTR), has released the results of the 2023 rankings for its ‘World’s Leading Trademark Professionals survey’ (WTR 1000).
The WTR 1000 is a guide that identifies the top trademark professionals in key jurisdictions around the globe. As a trademark directory, The WTR 1000 recognizes the professionalism, dedication and effort of the firms and places them in their “Prosecution and Strategy” and “Enforcement and Litigation” rankings.

WTR analysis for Türkiye as follows:
The Turkish market continues to stand strong against the challenges of the pandemic and hyperinflation. With an influx of companies with brand interests in Turkey, the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (TPTO) maintains its efforts to develop a smoother quality of service, with updated online registry systems, newly appointed judges, a boost in the number of IP courts, and a swifter filing process. The TPTO is soon to become the authorised body to determine the validity of trademark cancellation requests due to non-use claims – as a result, rights holders are advised to refile their registrations before 2024, when the legislation will come into effect, to avoid infringement actions. The country continues to observe an increase in counterfeit goods, and brand owners are advised to stay vigilant; however, local practitioners are keeping infringers at bay with strong relationships with customs officials.
