This October, Istanbul becomes the center of the intellectual property world!

From October 22nd to 25th, the AIPPI World Congress, a prestigious event for intellectual property professionals, will be held at the Hilton Bomonti Hotel and Convention Center.

The annual AIPPI World Congress gathers up to 2000 members from all around the world, including leading experts from law firms and academia, to discuss hot topics in intellectual property. The congress comprises four main components: substantive legal work, professional development, association management, and networking opportunities.

This year, the congress will focus on several pertinent topics such as the "Doctrine of Equivalents" in patents, "Proving Trade Mark Use" in trademarks, "Collecting Societies" in copyright, and "Responsibility of Online Marketplaces for Online Infringement." Additionally, the academic program will feature over 20 panel discussions, themed lunches, "AIPPI Cafe" events, a mock trial on the UPC, and more.

The official opening will feature shows and music concerts promoting Turkish culture. A Cultural Evening will take place in the ancient Binbirdirek Cistern. Female IP professionals will enjoy the "Women in AIPPI" event aboard a boat on the Bosphorus, featuring a belly dance course. The "Young AIPPI Forum" will be hosted in Babylon, a famed music venue. The closing dinner at the Hilton Bomonti Hotel will celebrate the splendor of Ottoman culture.
