Defne Kaya holds a bachelor’s degree from Yeditepe University Faculty of Law and is currently completing her legal traineeship under the Istanbul Bar Association. Originally from İzmir, she graduated from İzmir Atatürk High School before pursuing her legal education in Istanbul.
Her primary areas of interest include intellectual property law, trademark law, and commercial litigation. During her legal training, Defne has gained valuable experience in the field of intellectual and industrial property, where she provides comprehensive support to clients. Her work focuses on trademark oppositions, design matters, and the broader aspects of protecting and enforcing intellectual property rights. She is actively involved in drafting and filing opposition notices, managing design registration processes, and ensuring that clients’ rights are safeguarded against potential infringements.
In addition, she assists in the preparation of strategic plans for IP portfolios, aiming to maximize the protection and commercial value of trademarks and designs. With a strong academic background and a hands-on approach to legal problem-solving, Defne is committed to delivering effective, practical, and business-oriented solutions. She continues to follow legal developments through sector-specific seminars and trainings, with the goal of contributing to innovative and rights-focused legal practice.
