Regional Legal Counsel & Compliance Business Partner, Roche Diagnostics Asia Pacific (APAC)

Role and Responsibilities

  • Supports all legal and compliance business matters pertaining to the APAC region
  • Provides a variety of general corporate and commercial legal services to a number of in-house clients and legal & compliance APAC community
  • Acts as an advisor on legal issues involving the organization’s government and regulatory compliance
  • Reviews legal data and advises organizations on appropriate legal action to be taken
  • Coordinates and monitors the legal matters handled by outside counsels and ensures the legal panel is updated based on the needs of the regional organization
  • Advises and supports on general corporate and commercial matters, including corporate governance and organization, drafting transactional documents, digital product license terms and conditions, commercial law, employment law, immigration law, intellectual property and technology law, data privacy, biotech law, competition law, tax law, risk management, contract management, and dispute resolution
  • Supports of the APAC Legal Leaders Forum in terms of driving agenda creation, organization and planning
  • Coordinates the required legal and compliance trainings for the APAC region and affiliate employees
  • Enabler of the APAC Compliance network Acts as an advisor on compliance-related matters to support and create ethical solutions
  • Coordinates and supports key areas of the regional Compliance Management System (CMS) i.e. monitoring, compliance evidencing, audit, and risk management
  • Support and/or lead data analysis for regional compliance oversight and the regional risk and compliance committee
  • Support and/or lead investigations and ensure adequate handling and documentation of noncompliance (e.g. BEIR reporting) and collaborate with People & Culture as required
  • Timely follow up and updates on CMS related findings, remedial plan & actions
  • Able to assess and put in place and/or support the creation of required regional policies and processes
  • Understanding the implications of legal and compliance support and advice on business projects and teams beyond the current environment


Qualifications

  • Requires a law degree and license to practice law
  • Requires knowledge of healthcare compliance
  • 3 years of experience preferably in a Pharma and/or MedTech Company with a proven track record
  • Experience in agile ways of working and methodologies
  • Co-active coaching fundamentals or similar certification
  • Savvy in leveraging technology to enable virtual teams
  • Strong emotional intelligence. Able to establish caring connections and be a team player
  • Strategic thinking and influencing
  • Proactive, entrepreneurial spirit & strong sense of pragmatism
  • Ability to manage complexity, a VUCA environment, while knowing how to enable simplificationAnalytical and system thinker
  • Moderation & presentation skills
