Hazal Yılmaz Joins Novo Nordisk as Legal, Ethics & Compliance Manager

Hazal Yılmaz recently joined Novo Nordisk as their new CDC Legal, Ethics & Compliance Manager. She is responsible for overseeing the legal, ethics, and compliance processes at Novo Nordisk-Clinic Development Center, which includes Turkey, Ukraine, Lebanon, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, and Morocco.

Novo Nordisk is a global healthcare company with a strong mission focuses on driving change to defeat diabetes, obesity, and rare blood and endocrine disorders, founded in 1923 and headquartered in Denmark.

Prior to joining Novo Nordisk, Hazal worked as a Legal Advisor at Sandoz (a division of Novartis) for four years. During her time there, she demonstrated her legal expertise and advisory skills, gaining experience in various areas where pharma and law intersect.

She also gained valuable experience as a Legal Intern in Legal & Compliance at Novartis Technical Operations, contributing to the company's compliance initiatives. Her dedication to the legal profession can be traced back to her time as a Legal Intern at Doğuş Group and Esin Attorney Partnership/Baker & McKenzie, where she gained exposure to diverse legal practices.

Hazal Yılmaz holds a bachelor's degree in Law from Yeditepe University, where she honed her legal knowledge and skills. Prior to her law studies, she pursued her passion for international relations and politics, obtaining a Pre-Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and International Relations (in French).

In her role as the Legal, Ethics & Compliance Manager, Hazal will contribute her expertise to support Novo Nordisk's commitment to healthcare advancement and ethical practices in Turkey and beyond.

In my role as the Legal, Ethics & Compliance Manager at Novo Nordisk, I bring a set of personal and professional skills that are crucial for success. With a strong background in law and four years of experience as a Legal Advisor in the pharmaceutical industry, I have a solid foundation in legal matters. This expertise enables me to effectively navigate complex regulations and compliance requirements. Additionally, my experience at Novartis Technical Operations and Sandoz has provided me with valuable insights into compliance initiatives, which are vital for ensuring adherence to ethics and regulations in a global company like Novo Nordisk.

Effective communication and collaboration skills are also essential in my role. I work closely with various departments, stakeholders, and external partners to foster a strong culture of ethics and compliance across the organization.

The healthcare industry is subject to regulation by multiple authorities and compliance standards, presenting a challenge in staying up-to-date with these regulations and implementing them effectively. Fortunately, I have strong experience in this area. Although I will need some time to learn about the legislation and structure of the countries for which I am responsible in my new role, I am excited about the opportunity to do so.
