We are looking for an experienced Data Protection Officer (DPO) to join the Global Privacy Office and support our privacy & data protection efforts in the Eurasia & Middle East (E&ME) and Africa operating units. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with the implementation and maintenance of Coca-Cola’s privacy program, including advising the business on compliance with applicable requirements, providing training and awareness, monitoring compliance, and liaising with regulatory authorities. This role is located on the legal team and reports to the Global Head of Data Protection and Privacy.


Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities

  • Advise the company regarding compliance obligations under Eurasia & Middle East and Africa privacy and data protection laws.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure a thorough understanding of privacy and data protection requirements and best practices in the region.
  • Monitor compliance with data protection laws and regulations, identifying areas for improvement and recommending corrective actions.
  • Keep up-to-date with changes in data protection legislation, industry best practices, and emerging technologies that may impact the company's data protection program.
  • Review projects and related data processing to ensure compliance with local data privacy laws, and where necessary, advise on privacy impact assessments.
  • Monitor compliance with data privacy impact assessments and conduct any required prior consultations with supervisory authorities.
  • Work with legal and compliance functions in the design and continual improvement of Coca-Cola’s global privacy framework, governance structure, and operating model.
  • Serve as a point of contact for data protection authorities within E&ME and Africa in regard to matters concerning personal data or data protection.
  • Act as a point of contact for requests from individuals regarding the processing of their personal data and the exercise of their rights.
  • Maintain independence as required under the privacy and data protection laws.


Education Requirements

  • Law Degree and/or advanced degree in Privacy, Information Technology, Cybersecurity or other relevant field
  • International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) CIPP or similar certifications are preferred.


Related Work Experience

  • Min. 10 years of professional experience in privacy and data protection.
  • Preferred candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of privacy and data protection requirements throughout E&ME and Africa, including related to digital marketing, employee data, AI, ad tech.
  • Experience prioritizing work, providing advice under deadlines, problem-solving, demonstrating strong attention to detail, while under limited oversightExperience in handling investigations, including communication with authorities and other external parties.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, demonstrated proficiency in working closely with and advising senior executives of an organization.
  • Prior experience with complex and multi-disciplinary projects on an international scale.
